The podcast "Criminal" talks about crimes committed through out history and looks at the people close to, as well as involved, in criminal activity. I kept this in mind when I redesigned the cover art and episode banner. I wanted to emulate the style and feel of prison uniforms so I used a minimal color scheme of prison orange and black while using a bold font that resembled the id numbers printed on prison uniforms. I used a texture on the font to give it a grungy worn look and feel.
In the cover art I broke the word criminal apart to make it more dynamic and stacked it so it almost resembles prison bars while having the colors inverted to show that the colors are reversible.
For the episode "Jolly Jane" which was about a nurse that no one would expect was secretly poisoning people, killing three people. I used an unstacked version of the podcast's title with small minimalistic illustrations added to hint at what the episode's content.
